More than 70 residents in Bridgewater, NJ were inspired to preserve 37 acres in their neighborhood after learning that George Washington’s troops marched and stayed on the land during the Revolutionary War. They were inspired by a 100-year-old World War II veteran and a teenage girl who were part of a team, including D&R Greenway Land Trust, that raised funds and persuaded local leaders to stop a housing development on Steele Gap Road, along the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary War Trail. Learn the story of this amazing land preservation effort.
