The Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday is an official day of service and celebrates the civil rights leader’s life and legacy.Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy through service and volunteerism and demonstrate how joining together in service can transform your life and the lives of others. Whether it’s a small or big act of kindness, service has the power to unite people, build bridges, and heal divides.
Observed each year on the third Monday in January, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is a federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and improve their communities.
Volunteering is open to everyone, from all backgrounds. There’s no upper age limit, though you’ll need to be at least 18 to apply.
