Johan and his wife Emily preserved and transformed their Montgomery Township farm by removing invasive plants, building trails in the woods, and planting native trees and meadows while saving farmland heritage. Johan led D&R Greenway’s Land Stewardship Committee to emphasize good conservation and sustainability and co-chaired D&R Greenway’s Land for Life campaign, establishing our Revolving Land Fund that has protected close to a dozen properties . . . and counting. On May 7th, at the Greenway Gala, Johan’s work will be honored by D&R Greenway with the presentation of the Donald B. Jones Conservation Award.
