2025 Greenway Gala

Sunday, June 1st, 4-6 p.m.
Hillside Farm, Hopewell, NJ

Cathleen-Rolston-Litvack

As Chair of D&R Greenway from 1995-1997, the late Cate Litvack knew how to make things happen.

Setting the tone for what was to come in New Jersey, Cate Litvack spearheaded land preservation initiatives including preservation of the nearly 600-acre Institute for Advanced Study lands. As a former Mayor of Princeton Township, she knew how important it was to bring community together to take collective action. When the Institute Woods were saved from future development, it set the course of what was to come later…with D&R Greenway assembling public-private partnerships to permanently preserve St. Michaels Farm Preserve in Hopewell, Carson Road Woods in Lawrence, and Farmview Fields and Greenway Meadows, now popular public parks in Princeton.
Cate was active with D&R Greenway throughout her lifetime. You likely were greeted by her welcoming smile at a Greenway Gala! She became the first Executive Director of the Crossroads of the American Revolution Association, supporting designation of the first National Heritage Area in New Jersey. As we mourn her passing, we applaud her achievements.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 1st from 4:00 – 6:00 pm for our Greenway Gala at Hillside Farm – appropriately on preserved land that served as an encampment during the American Revolution. Please join us as we present our 2025 Donald B. Jones Conservation Award to Cate, posthumously, in recognition of her impactful legacy. Her family will join us to accept the award and celebrate her legacy.
