Hopewell Community Campout

Hopewell Borough, in partnership with D&R Greenway Land Trust, invites the public to enjoy the
2018 Hopewell Community Campout at St. Michaels Farm Preserve.

Saturday, June 23 into Sunday, June 24.
Check in is from 2 -4 pm on Saturday.

Hopewell Borough in partnership with D&R Greenway Land Trust invites you to participate in the Hopewell Community Campout at St. Michaels Farm Preserve on June 23 into Sunday, June 24. Participants need not be Hopewell residents. Registration deadline June 15, 2018 

 

 

 

Where…

St. Michaels Farm Preserve, in the field in front of the Charles Evans Overlook on Aunt Molly Road

Parking will be in the field across aunt Molly Road

Tractor rides to camp sites will be provided

Timing…

Arrive and set up camp between 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday

Organized activities begin at 4:00 pm

Breakfast will be served Sunday at 7:00 am

Most folks leave by 10:00 am Sunday, but if you want to stay longer, you may

What…

Set up a tent and sleep under the sky.

There will be a return of the popular Scout demonstrations, celebrity hike and building of “fairy houses”.

The Campfire with s’mores will begin at dusk – guitars, banjos and tambourines are encouraged.

After dark activities will include night-time nature activities and AAAP astronomers to share the myths and mysteries of the night sky through telescopes.

Participate in sunrise yoga at 6:30 am Sunday morning

More activities are being planned.

Food…

Bring a picnic supper that does not require flames

Bring a full water bottle for each camper – refills will be available

Bring snacks

Complimentary breakfast provided Sunday morning

What else to bring…

Campers supply their own tents, sleeping bags, water bottles, family dinner, snacks, picnic blankets and chairs. Campers may want to bring their own firefly-catch-and-release containers.  Flashlights and/or headlamps are encouraged. Campsites will measure 20’ by 20’.

Alcohol…

Alcohol is not permitted.

Weather

Campout is weather/conditions permitting.
In the event of foul weather it may be canceled. Participants will be notified by email. 

Registration…

Every person in your tent must be a member of your family. You won’t be allowed to bring children that aren’t your own. Parents are responsible for their children throughout the Campout.

Click here to register drgreenway.org or you may obtain a hard copy form at Hopewell Borough Hall. A release form and non-refundable $45.00 registration fee must accompany each application. The fee covers the costs of hosting the Campout, (breakfast, s’mores, supplies, sanitary facilities, and the like.)  For registered campers, details will follow via email shortly before the campout.
